Croatia Weather in August
August sports excellent weather conditions in Croatia. The seafront city of Pula has sublime summer weather with temperatures between 18°C and 29°C. On the southern Dalmatian coast, the mercury rises slightly higher, between 23°C and 31°C. Temperatures in Dubrovnik in August are also hot at 23°C and 30°C. Zagreb, the country’s capital, is relatively colder, with the mercury hovering between 16°C and 28°C. The Dinaric Alps have the lowest temperatures in the whole of Croatia in August. In the mountain town of Gospic, the temperature ranges between 12°C and 27°C.

- Sinjska Alka: This festival is over 300 years old and is held in Sinj. Visit Split and see the festival participants jousting with each other with lances on horseback in a true medieval fashion. It is like traveling back in time.

- Zrće Beach Festival: Pag Island becomes home to the largest music festival of its kind in Europe in August. Come and enjoy the underground music performances, which are staged on boats and in jubilant open-air clubs.
- Beach season: With plenty of sunshine, August is one of the best times to enjoy a Croatian beach holiday. Zlatni Rat in Brac is the most popular beach destination while Punta Rata in Brela is a secluded crystalline paradise, perfect for a peaceful day at the beach. Bacvice, Kastelet and Trstenik in Split also have some of the best beaches.
