For the traveller on a budget, this service does it all. They take you all over, at quite a fast pace, to see cities, castles, rivers and more! They provide nice hotels, that are clean and usually quiet. Lots of food, the breakfasts were full of food, and the dinners, although not always the traditional food of that country, were plentiful and filling. We even had a grande finale, we stayed at a 4 star hotel, with a luxurious pool! The included dinner at a local traditional restaurant was the highlight of the trip for me, because it had live Bulgarian folk music, and I even got to dance! I wish the customer service was better, I ended up leaving a dress behind, and a special water bottle, and tried for days to contact someone at expat, and I never got any help. They did provide me with a phone number to call the hotel, but the hotel never answered. I was really hoping expat would take care of this for me, and they did not.
An excellent all-round trip This was my first cycling trip with this tour operator and I was thoroughly impressed from start-to-finish. The trip involved five 50-70km days and a 6th day which involved a morning of rest in Loutraki and an afternoon/evening of sightseeing in Athens. We were on the road from 9am -5/6pm each day; stints of cycling along beautiful coastal or mountain roads were split up with fantastic lunches, visits to cultural sites including the theatre at Epidavros and the citadel at Mycenae, and a trip to a winery. We ate as a group in excellent restaurants each evening, and the hotels were all comfortable. There were two nights in Athens (one at the start, one at the end), four in coastal resorts (good for swimming) and one in Mycenae, where the hotel had a pool.
The tour itself was great. Greece is such a beautiful country! We had two guides (Jenny and Tulua) and they were excellent - very knowledgeable about Greek history and culture, accommodating to our group's needs and had a great sense of humor! However, the accommodations in some places were not as good as we are expecting frpm Eskapas Tours. The accommodation, especially in Delphi, was substandard.
