Very nice trip to gokyo valley and Kathmandu city tour,at first we don't have high expectations about this trip, but all we got is more than we can expect, a trip worthy to do, will be back soon for other Trip in Nepal, beautiful country, friendly people, we loved Nepal.
We trekked via Cho La pass to Everest base camp from late October to mid November and overall we felt that it was a great experience and good value. Things that were good: - the World Expeditions local staff from start to finish were professional, friendly and supportive. Our trek leader Tshering and guide Lucpar and their support staff did a impressive job of taking care of all our day to day needs, health and safety. We cannot thank them enough for their efforts. - The route and acclimatization were well thought out. The ascent was gradual enough to minimize the risk of altitude sickness. - Fantastic scenery - Great weather, we had clear skies every day. - Accommodation was mostly quite good. Things that could be improved: - The accommodation at Gorak Shep was not great (but there does not seem to be any good alternative). - The itinerary published on the WE website is a little inaccurate and should probably be updated to reflect the latest conditions. - The bus ride from Kathmandu to Ramechap (for the connecting flight to Lukla) was long and uncomfortable. Unfortunately this seems to be unavoidable in peak seasons. - A better selection of food. Perhaps more local Nepalese dishes would have been preferable to western dishes.
A superb trip! We had a great Expedition Guide and team - nothing was too much trouble and they were professionalism personified! Stunning scenery and well-paced itinerary - always felt very safe. Would wholeheartedly recommend this trip and World Expeditions.
