Our Backroads of Japan walking trip was fabulous. Our guide Akemi was excellent with her knowledge and help for the tour group. However, in places where the walking was quite difficult we feel that Akemi could have had an assistant so that there would be one at the front and one at the back for safety reasons.

Just finished an amazing 13 days in Japan. I highly recommend Intro Travel. This our second trip with them, first one was in Thailand. We did so many things that we would never have gotten to see or do on our own. Saw the snow monkeys, stayed in a 1200 year old temple, had a samurai experience, all without having to worry about transportation or lodging. We ended up signing up for another trip with them this summer. If youre thinking about it, dont hesitate. Shout out to our awesome leader Michelle!

Tour overall was well planned. We never waited anywhere. Activities were well timed and planned. Hotels were generally satisfactory, and most were excellent. Excursions such as the miso factory, tea picking, sumo wrestling, and sake factory were ones that I may not have chosen to do myself, but ALL of them were excellent and enhanced my enjoyment of the experience. I have no doubt but that they would have been difficult to arrange on my own and so would have skipped those experiences if I were not on this tour. I also REALLY enjoyed our opportunities to eat like the locals in places where we ordered and paid through vending machines. That is something that I believe is unique to Japan, and was a fun cultural experience, with great prices and tasty food!
