THE INCA TRAIL

One of the iconic trips there is (or must do or bucket list or whatever you want to calll it). Very doable for anyone in good physical condition (some pain if that's not the case but still doable!). The maximum altitude of 4,200 is no big deal and there is plenty of time for acclimatisation built in.

Our family (parents and 2 teens) had the most amazing experience during this holiday. From the Amazon jungle to Cusco (Sacred Valley) to the highlight of the trip, trekking the Inca Trail, we had friendly knowledgeable guides, more than comfortable accommodation and experiences to last a lifetime. I'll never forget the sight of Macchu Picchu from the Sun Gate on the last day of the trek. Making sure we were fit beforehand made all the difference to the trek.

Essential Peru features an excellent itinerary and is well carried out on a comfortable bus with ample comfort and food stops. The gradual ascent into the highlands enables one to gradually get used to the altitude. There were more than a few early departures, but the rewards were great! Exodus fulfilled all its' promises. Airport pickup and drop off were accomplished with no inconvenience. The hotels used on the trip were well beyond the bare bones that I was expecting. It was a wonderful experience!
