Strasbourg Tours and Trips 2024/2025

Rooted in history yet pulsating with modernity and dynamism, the Alsatian city of Strasbourg perfectly encapsulates both its Francophone and Germanic origins — and not coincidentally; its original name, Stratisburgum, literally means "city at the crossroads". Discover the two souls of the city as you stroll through the medieval streets of the Unesco-listed Petite France, lined by the iconic timber-framed Maisons des Tanneurs and dominated by the lavish Gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame. For a change of scenery, immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the Wacken district and admire the futuristic Louise Weiss building, home of the European Parliament, directly overlooking the placid waters of the Ill River. Move away from the hustle and bustle of the city and indulge in an enchanting Strasbourg wine tour along the Alsace Wine Route, stopping at picturesque vineyards and charming villages, and tasting the region's renowned wines and culinary delights. Basel to Strasbourg was an excellent route made easy with them. Excellent e-bikes. Good mix of accommodation. Would have been nice to have a briefing at the start. Directions were challenging at times. But overall we really enjoyed it.

An excellent trip through interesting countryside and pleasant villages. Trip notes generally easy to follow, although you need to be alert and use a combination of GPS and the Orange arrows. Accommodation was satisfactory and well located.

Cycling was a great way to explore this region - beautiful countryside, picturesque villages and plenty to explore, eat and enjoy. I almost felt sorry for some of the busloads of tourists I saw - suddenly arriving in a village en masse and trucking off 30 minutes later. Cycling is the perfect to truly enjoy what this region offers.
