We had a lovely time on the Treasures of the Baltic’s trip! Our guide (Romas) was extremely knowledgeable about the history of all 3 countries as well as facts and information on many subjects! He and our driver (Valdas) were excellent and very professional! The cities (Vilnius, Riga & Tallin are each lovely and different so this added to the enjoyment of our travels! The landscape in between the cities is similar but there was variety in the places we stopped as we travelled. This is a unique part of Europe with its poignant and long history of being conquered by many countries! We very much enjoyed learning about the history and visiting a part of Europe we hadn’t seen before!

We enjoyed the holiday very much, we had a good insight into the three capital cities and a fiar understanding of how the countyry side worked. The food was much better than expected , we had feared it might mainly be pork and dumplings but it was a good selection of 'western ' and local dishes. The cycling was mainly through forest tracks which do not give many views of the country side but perhaps it is very difficult to design a cycling holiday in a very forested area to include time to stop and look aroun villages . Although the cycling was not technically difficult there were times when it was necessary to keep close to the leader mto avoid getting lost. A back marker would have been very useful and would have been able to cope with any problems (punctures, accidents) as well as ensuring.

An enjoyable and informative trip. It was varied and there was a good balance between city, town and country. Each day had something of interest. The guides were excellent. The only real improvements I would suggest would be to lengthen the stay in Tallinn - a second day is definitely necessary - and to change the first hotel in Tallinn which was a disappointment. A little more walking in the National Parks would also be welcome.
