Travel to the most remote parts of Iceland and discover many well-known highlights that will sweep you off your feet. Your journey will begin in Reykjavik, the northernmost capital of the world, known for its rich Viking history, lively festivals, traditional Icelandic cuisine, and thriving nightlife scene. Grab your rental car and set out to explore the Reykjanes Peninsula, known for its exotic volcanoes, heightened geothermal activity, and jaw-dropping lava fields. Visit Vik, an enchanting village home to a world-famous black sand beach, and set out to explore Hofn, a coastal town with incredible coastal views and seaside cuisine. Next, you will travel to Egilsstadir located near Iceland’s largest forest, known for its steep mountain hills and breathtaking waterfalls, and see the pseudocraters of Skutustadir and the Laxa River in Myvatn. Your next stop will be in Akureyri, Iceland’s second-largest city before you learn about Icelandic culture and history in Borgarnes. Visit Thingvellir National Park, a must-see stop on the Golden Circle before you make your way back to Reykjavik where your self-drive tour of Iceland will come to an end!

No additional cancellation fees apply for this Iceland Explorer Self Drive Summer tour. You can cancel the tour up to 78 days prior departure and avoid paying the full amount, but your deposit paid is non-refundable. No refund applies for cancellations within 77 days of departure.

Payment

For any tour departures within 17 September 2024, full payment is required. For tours that depart later than 17 September 2024, a deposit of 30% is required to confirm this tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 77 days before trip departure.

Travel Insurance
