I enjoyed the trip and will highly recommend it to my friends. I highly appreciate the every day work of the expedition team and the responsibility they carry on. Usually clients used to complain... I also have only much appreciation to your hotel team and the expedition. I would like to point out some hotel team members: DR waiters Dante, Hanns, Paulo - And to our stateroom keeper Helen!!! Thank U all very very much!
    Quark was the perfect choice.

This was a perfect experience for us. We don't want to come home, and we felt both safe when needed and free to explore our surroundings. We wish this tour operator continued success with their hiring such stellar individuals. Additionally, Reniel & Tamara, who took care of our room on the 4th floor, were thoughtful, cheerful & helpful. Dining room staff, especially Andrea, Harrison, Milos and Halim, were so nice to see each day, and actually anticipated our wants. Tracie made fantastic meals and her vibrant personality was a joy. Your behind-the-scenes staff were also pleasant & welcoming when we would meet them in passing. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was the best decision we've made since getting married. This operator was the perfect choice.
    A must do experience

This is truly once in a life time trip. The crew and serving staffs are amazing and professional. The sites are out of this world. The crew and staff did everything to make sure we get to experience Antarctica and South Georgia in it's best. The lectures on board are very informative. The 2 reasons I gave this trip 4 star: 1. The chefs did everything to provide very good meals in some difficult weather conditions. The food tasted good (like a regular 3 star restaurant. However, we were on board for 21 days. Although there are different dishes everyday. But they all tasted the same. So by the end of this trip, it is very difficult to enjoy the food. 2: Most of the places we visited are very windy. The exhaust of the ship gets blown away from the ship. But there are 2-3 days with low wind, then the exhaust get inside the ship and the 8th deck cabins are filled with these diesel exhaust. I could not stay int he cabin.

Antarctica — Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Holidays in Antarctica will take you to uninhabited places in Earth
Go on a cruise to take a journey to the farthest uninhabited corners of Earth (literally..)

Nonetheless, there are still plenty of great cruises and expeditions available for those who are brave enough to visit it — and it can be quite exciting to be one of the few people who ever get the chance to explore this ice-covered continent. Check out some of the things you should know before your trip to Antarctica.

    Antarctica Cruise Highlights

    • Catch a glimpse of wildlife in their natural habitat like the Emperor Penguins, whales and seals
    • Experience the most extreme side of nature, visiting some corners of the Earth that are only accessible by special ice-strengthened boats
    • Cross the infamous Drake Passage, or the Sea of Hoces - the world’s roughest sea (brace yourself if you are prone to get seasick)

    Antarctica Travel Tips

    • There are strict environmental guidelines that you must follow on your visit to Antarctica, and you cannot visit on your own. You will have to explore the region as part of a small group on a cruise ship, accompanied by a guide.
    • Antarctica can only be visited during the continent’s short summer months, typically between November and March. Otherwise, the weather is too harsh.
    • There are about 24 hours of sunlight in this part of the world, so be sure to pack sunscreen.
    • Most trips to Antarctica depart from Argentina and run for multiple days. Expect to be gone for anywhere from 10 days to an entire month. This is a long adventure!

    Popular durations for Antarctica trip

Antarctica trips typically require a great deal of planning. The sheer logistics of traveling to the region means one cannot take a quick trip to the continent. We recommend setting aside at least 14 days for your trip to Antarctica. This will give you enough time to see Ushuaia, hike the most popular trails, take countless photographs of the scenic views, enjoy intimate wildlife viewing, and, of course, visit all the historical sites.

Peak season and low season tours in Antarctica

    • Peak season tours in Antarctica: The Antarctic summer, from November through early February, is the peak period for Antarctica tours. The region is at its warmest during this period, and you can enjoy up to 24 hours of daylight, making it the best time for hiking, photography tours, and other outdoor adventures. This is also the peak wildlife breeding season. But do make sure to book your trip well ahead of time and be ready to part with a significant amount of money.
    • Low-season tours in Antarctica: Mid-February to March is considered the low tourist season in Antarctica. The weather is much colder and there are fewer daylight hours during this time of the year. Still, the overall conditions are much more bearable than in the peak fall and winter seasons. You can anticipate lower prices on Antarctica trips and cruises due to lower tourist arrival. Despite being the low season, February and March is a great time to visit Antarctica if you are a wildlife enthusiast. Penguin chicks leave their nest and the whale numbers are at their peak around this time.
