This trip took us through a sparsely populated area of France, where we saw few people, but saw plenty of old buildings and walked along roman roads through the mountains. The food and accommodation was excellent and we met some interesting people. Highlights for us, were the Verdon Gorge and walking along the roman road that climbs through the mountains. We completed this walk in August, when the temperature was 33 degrees, hot for walking. However, we will return again in the Spring or Autumn.
An excellent and inspiring holiday stunningmountain views and fun but challenging walks, but with adequate breaks for coffe and some great cakes at some amazing mountain refuges
Great travelling compaions , the wet nights under the stars helped us to bond and a sense of humour was always enjoyed
Great guide in Heather, who was always helpful and friendly and certainly knows her way in the mountains.
Highlites of Provence Hiking tour--Southern France I've traveled extensively, mostly NOT by way of a booked tour. However, this was undoubtedly a fabulous experience and would do it again. Meeting people from across the globe and bonding with them as if we were mates for years. All within a weeks time! Another positive about a booked tour, if you know your exact destination, and/or type of activities you prefer then the rest is done for you!The trip details were pretty true to the write up, including our lovely hotel...great location, clean hotel, delicious breakfasts & friendly staff.
