Man what a trip!
in equal parts stunning and tough - the TMB absolutely delivered. Every day we were treated with a gruelling ascent, a toe bashing descent and simply incredible views all the way through. The tour guide and the camp manager were just fabulous too - the guide wasnt just an IML but also a trained biologist clearly deeply in love with Mother nature - to learn a little about the local flora and fauna whilst also feeling completely at ease and secure knowing your guide has your back was just lovely - it meant we could concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other and just enjoy the ride. Our camp manager Vega cooked us some seriously delicious food on only 4 camp stoves - it smelled so good she had random campers coming up to ask what she was cooking! The camps where all lovely - some perhaps a little more loud than others but overall, as far as a camping trip goes, it was pretty darn luxurious. Would do this again in a heartbeat
On this tour it was amazing I loved it only if the trip was longer. Wish there was more time in the last few places we visited rather than staying in Paris. At least 2 days in the Netherlands would have been good since there was so much to see but yet so little time. All the views were breathe taking and pictures couldn't top them. Our tour guide Dee was amazing she had good knowledge of telling us about the areas we went into and always kept track of the group.
As this was our first walking tour myself and hubby didn't really know what to expect. Once we understood how to read the waymarkers it was pretty easy. You definitely need your walking notes though. Accommodation was great, no complaints. The Chateau was amazing to stay in and the dinner (we paid for) was superb. We stayed an extra night in Chinon to break up our trip and the extra night in Sarlat was just what we needed. Loved everything about this walking tour and are already planning our next!
