Really enjoyed this trip ,lots of good point's - here's a few Firstly we had brilliant weather the whole week so we did all the walks and saw all the sights in glorious sunshine. Secondly the chalet and our hosts were superb ,the food was delicious and plentiful all week. Thirdly our walk leader was very capable and gave a sense of security and safety throughout the trip.
Our March Provence Bike and Barge trip was a fabulous experience with the full support of a very professional crew. Our cycling guide was fantastic; he took time each day to get to know the group and chat with everyone, as well as sort any bike issues. I enjoyed the variety in the itinerary and would recommend doing the optional wine degustation in Aigues-Mortes. We always had time for the important stuff of coffee and toilet breaks. The barge meals were amazing! Despite cycling 45-50 kms a day on average, I am sure I put on weight. The on-board crew were most attentive to every issue or query. All-in-all, the trip could not have been better and only marred by unavoidable high spring floods in the French waterways. However, the reorganisation of the day-to-day cycling schedule was highly professional. The electric bikes were perfect for my partner and me were well-worth the additional dollars. Full marks to the cycle company for their daily support.
First time traveller with Expat and I can't praise them highly enough. You get terrific value for money, the accommodations were mostly excellent (except one had no hot water). Tour leader and driver were outstanding. Days were long but we saw so much more than anticipated. Will use them again.
