Enjoyed the spectacular scenery, the professionalism of our guide Fred, the food, the accommodations but I think your description of the tour as a ramble and the ability to stop and smell the roses was inaccurate. The walk was a hard slog from beginning to end. Also the recommendation of shoe wear was inaccurate. We spent $400 on high ankle support shoes when others wore their normal hiking shoes which we would have preferred.
Excellent walking holiday Corsica was much more mountainous and greener than we had expected. The walks were through beautiful countryside and it was great fun using the local railway to start/end some of the walks. Most of the paths were good, but some were quite steep and one had been eradicated by the wild pigs (but the guide found the path again!) We were lucky to have sunny weather all week, so all planned walks were achievable, though some may not have been possible if it had been wet.
We rode Nice to Genoa with friends and enjoyed the trip overall. The Lugurian Coast has some beautiful sections. The hotels were great (apart from the one at Genoa), two with swimming pools (it was a very hot week!) The sections that were on the SS1 road were not so nice as there is a lot of traffic, however there were also some sections along the old coastal railway line which were great with some nice cool tunnels. I think there will be more sections of these opening at some point. The supplied GPX files and GPX Viewer worked really well (much better than trying to follow written instructions).
