This was our first Exodus holiday and it fulfilled all expectations. The walks, led by our guide Mark, were varied and provided us with a fantastic opportunity to sample some of the TMB. He had an abundance of local knowledge and we felt safe in his hands. Some of the days were quite long but the rewards well worth the achy knees! Our stay at Chalet Chamonix was super, Chalet hosts Rich and Sarah were so welcoming and all the food we were provided with was simply amazing. We were lucky to be with a very friendly bunch of fellow trekkers and have many lovely and happy memories from our trip.
Highlights of Provence Sept 2015 Hotel des Alpes was very welcoming, clean, modern and with excellent facilities. Breakfast buffet was excellent, a huge choice. The two group meals taken at the hotel restaurant were very enjoyable and the staff very friendly (these were a set meal but the staff were able to cater for those who had different requirements). The pool and terrace area were set out very comfortably. The staff were helpful and friendly. The group walks were varied and offered beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. We were given enough time to explore small villages we passed through on our walks and use local facilities for lunch (market day at Forcalquier).
The weather was generally fair except for the first, the eighth, and ninth day. Our group consisting of six couples and two singles, were all very nice and cheerful. We enjoyed walking, talking, eating, and drinking. The flowers were less in number than my expectation and lacked in variety. Maybe it was a bit early and they were not in full bloom. I think having free days in between is quite a good policy.
