TMB - Trekking Made Brilliant Up with the very best walking/trekking holidays we have done. Two weeks camping, ten days well-paced walking with well-spaced free days. Our group was very mixed but gelled together very well; the weather was very mixed but mostly sunny, often hot - and when the sun didn't shine and stuff fell out of the sky, we all found there is no such thing as bad weather - the variety just added to the atmosphere. Varied terrain, stunning views and just the right level of challenge.
I really enjoyed this trip. The scenery was amazing, and hiking with new friends from different countries was really a treat. Our guide, Julian, did a great job taking care of us and handling details as we went. The hiking was challenging enough for me. I can definitely recommend this trip to others.
We have just returned from a great week in Chamonix. The weather could certainly have been better and the low lying snow meant that a few of our walks did not run as planned. The guide managed to find alternatives which allowed us to see the region, weather permitting. The trip is classed as moderate but some of the days were quite challenging for some of the group. We were lucky to be part of an exceptional group of people which made each day an adventure no matter what the weather threw at us. The highlight of the trip was definitely Chalet Chamonix with Sarah and Rich. The meals were themed for different countries the couple has spent time in. But the cooking was at Haute Cuisine standard. Rich's afternoon cakes were also fingerlicking good . The buffet from which we made up our packed lunches had a selection of homemade salads as well as meats and bread.Delicious!
The guest lounge and kitchen , with a well stocked honesty bar, turned into the hub where we spent time before and after the evening meal.
The hot tub helped to relieve the sore legs.
