Brilliant trip in beautiful Greece A brilliant trip from start to finish. The cycling is a nice mix of countryside, coastal and a few hills thrown in. You also get to see Greece away from hustle of tourists. The cycling is all on mostly quiet roads and through a couple of towns although you're not on any busy roads for more than a few minutes. The food is also excellent, and you also get some excellent local knowledge on just about everything from Greek mythology to which is the best Olive oil to buy to take home. I highly recommend this trip.
The itinerary is packed with all good sites and highlights. We had Maria, as a guide he eas very experienced guide and historian. The company responded very quickly to all of our questions before the trip. Hotels were excellent and well located however the food is really average. You have to go outside to taste the street delights. Overall it is amazing and I recommend to solo travelers.
A wonderful way to see Greece beyond just the beaches and the Acropolis - though you get those as well. Mostly it was small towns , back roads through orange & olive groves, and historical sites in the countryside. Hotels were, Athens aside, beautifully located and near-empty. Going for a swim in the sea to cool down after the day's cycling was a regular event.
It was my first cycling holiday but I needn't have worried. I'm someone who cycles for an average 2-3 hours per week and the pace was fine with regular stops for water and snacks. Some steep hills but they were fairly short and the bikes had 24 gears so everyone just went up them slowly. One particularly long but not steep climb on the way from Galatas to Epidavros was the worst bit.
