Most of the places we stayed were great but the Rhine valley wasn’t upto what we expected.. the place we stayed, the food was pretty poor.. other than that we enjoyed everywhere else.

The actual trip was excellent: the Magnifique 2 Barge crew were incredibly friendly and every aspect of the bike riding and daily activities was meticulously organised. The accommodation on board was comfortable and it was a real pleasure to sit down at night to a lovely table and fine dining.

We enjoyed this trip a lot although at times the quantity of walking was challenging due to the heat. Good walking shoes, a ha, sun glasses and a water bottle were essential in the August sun and heat wave. City guides were knowledgeable and provided good introductions to the various cities, their culture and history, particularly the guide in Berlin. Two of the add-ons were particularly memorable: the concert in Vienna and the dinner cruise in Budapest. Our tour leader was friendly and did her best to accommodate individual needs.
