A packed trip including most of the scenery and activities you can get in New Zealand.Although we covered a lot of kilometers, there was time to walk, take a boat and just take it all in. We had a great tour leader who also drove the van, even the men in the group noticed she is a very good driver.Everything was well planned for, including stops for buying food in supermarkets, and of course the toilet stops. We were lucky with the weather, although the only rainy day was when we were in Tongariro so the crossing was cancelled. But later in the afternoon it was still possible to walk around a bit. Most of the group, if not all thought that another night in Rotorua and especially in Mount Cook would add to the trip. The hotels were very good, most of one hotel group, but the hotel in Mount Cook stood out and even had a complete kitchen, and the views... with clear skies just amazing.,

Fantastic trip, our guide Guy was very good. He was very knowledgeable on everything, and booked everyone onto all the activities they wanted, and I felt very safe with him as our driver and guide. The only reason I took off a star was because of the awful state of some of the accomodation. Particularly Nomads, after our stay in Nomads in Wellington, where the Accomodation was filthy, and the beds unsafe (not unrealistic standards I think), we were so upset to find out we were staying with them again for four nights in Christchurch, when the itinerary still had LYLO hostel on it (which is of a much higher standard). The breakfast in Wellington was awful and made a lot of us sick, the breakfast in Christchurch was lovely. It was very good having breakfast provided in the mornings. The bathrooms in the Blue Dolphin Accomodation were all broken. And the facilities in the rock climbing accommodation were all dirty. The activities were great fun, the experience in the Māori village was a great way to get everyone comfortable with each other on the first night. It would have been nice to have gone down a bit more south, considering there’s a lot of driving, a few more hours wouldn’t make a difference. Overall, I had a great trip, saw so much of the beautiful country and had so much fun with the other travellers.
Absolutely recommendable despite extra expenditures

Overall the trip was amazing and with Vaughan we also had a great guide From a fitness level it is absolutely for beginners or intermediate level as only 1 walk was above 12 km The only criticism we're the many motels where no real breakfast is available so you need to calculate for extra expenditures as this will not be sufficient given you will be travelling the whole day Also in the hotels don't expect to much of variety re breakfast And you one note re the itinerary- maybe having the last night in Christchurch rather than akaroa might make sense
