This was my first group adventure trip, and therefore my first trip with this tour company and I couldn't have been more impressed. It was well organised, ran smoothly, covered a great selection and variety of destinations and activities, the group leader was brilliant and the group was lovely. I did the August solo departure and there was a really good range of people (ages ranged from 20s to 70s, with everything in between; and a good mix of fellow 'first timers' to others who had done several other trips with this company)
Wow! So grateful for this adventure! Vietnam and Cambodia have long been on my list of countries to visit, and I have to say that seeing them with Exodus exceeded expectations. I felt that this tour encompassed so many places and experiences, and the Trip Notes did not do justice to all that we really saw. Our tour included the gritty and gorgeous, surreal and surprising. The word that kept repeating was "unexpected"; these countries and their people surprised us in the best of ways. These two countries have much to share in terms of history, natural beauty, and cities in motion! So much of our enjoyment of our trip was due to the hard work, care, and patience of our guides, Bon and Chesda, and the easy friendships formed with our fellow travelers on the tour! Our accommodations were comfortable and convenient and the logistics smooth. I still have so much to process from all I saw and learned. I'm also already thinking about where to go next! I'd absolutely travel with Exodus again.
Great trip overall - a real journey Just returned from this trip . Myself , my husband and 3 more friends went on the trip - we are all keen on cycle touring. For myself and my husband, our overall experience was very good . Our guide, Chai was the best we have ever had . He dealt with a varied group with humour, fantastic organisation and always a smile. The group we were with was made up of British , Canadian, American and Australian cyclists . The group was great and bonded well under Chai's expert guidance.
Culturally the trip is very interesting - Angkor Wat is fascinating and beautiful and the Killing Fields in Cambodia were life changing. Travelling through the 3 countries and seeing the various levels of development, political situations and living conditions was interesting and sometimes disturbing.
However the cycling itself was sometimes disappointing - in the first few days there is rather a lot of cycling along straight, featureless , flat roads in 35 degrees of heat. Being taken out to eat local food in the evenings was very enjoyable and welcome after this.
Cycling around Angkor Wat and the various temples which make up the complex was beautiful and the cycling in Vietnam is amazing - cycling through communities , hopping on and off ferries - everywhere a riot of colour and interest.
