My last trekking was roughly 11 years ago. I was worry about my stamina that not fit enough to trek up to Poon Hill. My buddy told me, "it's alright, u have experience in trekking, it wouldn't bother you". On our first day of trekking, we started our journey from Nayapul to Hille, then Hille to Ulleri. To go up to Ulleri, we need to go thru 3500 of very steep steps! This was super challenging and exhausting. It took us about 2Hours to reach Ulleri. But that's not the end yet for that day, we need to climb few tenths steps to go up to our lodge where it located highest in Ulleri. It was exhausted but the view is awesome. I can see Annapurna from my room. It may be tiny lil mountain far away from me, but it's so motivating for the next day. On 2nd day, we started our journey at 8am. We passed by Banthanthi and Nangethanti to go to Ghorepani. This route was much easier and not many steep steps. We arrived earlier than our estimated arrival time. Again, the agency got us accommodation at the highest location. This was even more awesome. All snow mountains are so much more nearer compared to Ulleri. We can't stop staring at it for couples of hours. It looks so fabulous and wonderful. On the 3rd day, at 5.30am we moved to Poon Hill. A very short journey and exhausting as it's kinda steep. But its worth it, the view was 10x more awesome than the view from the window. Annapurna and Machhapuchchhre's view are so clear in front of you. Our guide voluntarily to take lots of photo for us and he even know which is the best spot for photo. Later, we went back to Ghorepani to collect our bag and we went to Ban Thanti then Tadapani and lastly, Ghandruk. At Tadapani, our guide discussed with us that we may reach Ghandruk pretty late, me and my buddy discussed, we don't mind spend additional 1night at Tadapani since we spent too much time at Poon Hill. But our guide knew that we wanted to finish our circuit on time, in order to have some leisure time in Pokhara. So, our guide decided to bring us to Ghandruk. It was 6.30pm, we were only halfway I'm the middle of the forest to Ghandruk. He's well prepared, we had headlight for us during the night scene in the forest and he even helped me to carry my huge bag (my both lower limbs muscles pain increasing sharply). He never fail to support us. He has a very good critical thinking, he always has plan B, C, etc. Bout 8pm, we finally arrived Ghandruk. On the next day, our destination is Jhinu Danda. Due to my lower limbs, he kinda concerned that I couldn't make it, he has been thinking about short cut to Jhinu. He gained all resources from the local residents, he brought us to a new route where it's new to him as well. We felt more adventurous as we explored new route together with him. He's very reliable and never fail to check with my lower limbs. We arrived Jhinu about 3pm. There's a Hot Spring nearby Jhinu about 20/25mins away from our lodge. It felt so relieving and comfortable in the hot spring pool. It's cleaned and someone is there to guard it. Best feeling ever, soaked under hot spring while enjoying the nature. On our last day, we went to Siwai and we took bus to go back to Pokhara. Overall, all lodges provides good and comfy room including additional comforter. Food was big portion. Not all lodges has hot shower, it's not easy to get full access of electricity on top of the mountain. Either we get a pail of hot water from kitchen or bear with the cold water. I love my trip alot. It was so wonderful. Most of the hill or mountains that I trekked last time, we can see mostly city, forest but at Poon Hill, i witness Himalaya Mountains everywhere. I felt so contented. I'm considering to join ABC Circuit for coming year.
Super recommend !!! Very serious company that helped me from the first moment, with several questions and uncertainty with which track to do. They explain in detail all the steps and options. Our first flight from Kathmandu to Lukla was canceled and they helped giving away the existing options. We decided to take a car to Salleri and did the trek from there. They helped with everything and managed to organize on the same day the car. Our guide Samrat Katel (better known as Durga) was amazing from the first moment we met. Always very attentive and professional he knows everything about the area and during the trail we learned a lot. He always questioned us about the physical conditions and treated us very well. A great travel companion for this type of trek. A true friend in the mountains. Super I recommend the company and especially our guide Durga. Thank you for the professionalism and the 2 most incredible weeks of my life.
