Most amazing experience ever Amazing staff and guides who are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. My 9 days trip to Egypt was amazing and I enjoyed every minute of it. I did the treasures of Egypt last year and could not recommend this company enough thank you.
Overall a great experience and we packed a lot into the holiday. Our leader, Andrew, was excellent and we were fortunate to have a great group of people on our trip.
Points to note for future travellers are that day one (Saturday) is all travel. The 2.00pm flight from the UK means that you arrive at the hotel about midnight (local time) then pack a full day in Cairo on the Sunday, leaving at 4.00am (2.00am UK time) on the Monday to fly to Luxor. So at that point everyone was pretty tired. The boat trip (on the Esmerelda) was excellent all round. Really relaxing. The Basma hotel in Aswan for the last two days was a bit disappointing. I would rate it a three star. Not what was billed, but it didn't spoil the holiday.
Again for future travellers, it's easy to get your visa at the airport and there are frequent stops at ATM's to get Egyptian pounds if required.
In summary, a great trip with particular thanks to Andrew our leader, and to the great group of people we were with.
Suggested areas for improvement for Exodus would be the Cairo logistics and flights, and the hotel in Aswan. Otherwise it was a great itinerary and a great experience
I signed up for this tour to see all the things that I had only read about in history books. And it didn't disappoint. The tour starts with someone meeting you at the Cairo airport to help through customs. This makes it so easy. You get handed off a few times and end up at the hotel. There is security everywhere. I never felt unsafe during the entire tour. There are several add on tours you can do before or after the official tour. I did the Memphis a Dashur tour, which included two pyramids, and also did the Alexandria day trip. It's totally worth it to go into the pyramids. They are hot and stuffy and an uncomfortable hunkered over walk to get into but it's so worth it. You are going to be spending a lot of time traveling on a bus on rough roads so be ready for that. Some of the days start really early so you can get there before the crowds. This ended up being totally worth it nothing like having a whole temple to yourself. Be ready for very pushy salesfolks everywhere. Also have lots of small bills available for tipping and bathroom breaks, there's normally a fee for any bathroom use. And bring your own TP since there often isn't any. The guides know a lot. Our guide was Mina M. He answered all our questions and provided tons of information and kept everything going smoothly. He was more than wiling to accommodate requests. We had signed up for the felucca but discovered it was just sleeping in a group on the deck of the boat which is more adventure than we wanted. So he arranged for us to do the cruise but stay in the hotel that night which was fantastic. The highlight for me was the valley of the kings in Luxor and snorkeling in the Red Sea. I want to return to see more of both.
