Great mix of Exercise and Culture! The trip was very much according to expectations and as the trip notes described. I was on an October departure and that was "out of season" for some places so some of the usual restaurants/stops that the guides would typically use were closed but they adapted accordingly... The guiding was excellent and as a pilot this trip had 2 guides based on previous comments/feedbacks that it was difficult for one guide to manage if group was fragmented. I was impressed by how they adapted the trip and listened to our feedback to make changes on the go. I was also positively impressed by the amount of history and information on the locations that the guides were sharing. The initial days were a bit hilly but very manageable for anyone cycling regularly. The bikes were hybrid/trek types which were ideal for the purpose as we had multiple terrain types but primarily road. The agenda was quite full so morning starts and new hotel every night... with typically 90mins to 2hours in the late afternoon between arriving back at the hotel and heading out again for a city tour and dinner. It was a wonderful trip with many varied experiences and locations!
Cycling in four wonderful countries This was my second Exodus trip and it was great as the first one. Dana was delightful, always willing to assist you with any request. She was assisted by Lubos. A very good driver and mechanic, always with a smile in his face.
We started the trip in the busy city of Prague , after a few days in the city I was so happy to get away. We got to the lovely town of Cesky Krumlov, it was a very relaxing day. After the first day the cycling got more challenging, we cycle through the hilly countryside. It was beautiful but really hilly. I’m not that good at hills since I lived in “FLAT” Florida.
All the cities we stop in the Czech Republic were memorable; Trebon, Telc, Mikulov. I will love to visit them again. The tour of the winery in Mikulov, so much fun. The Czech Republic beer and ice cream unforgettable.
The cycling tour of the city of Vienna is a most. And in the afternoon go and jump in the Danube.
The ride from Vienna to Bratislava was beautiful, a very long relaxing ride. Then we’re in Hungary, time go so fast. Finally the magnificent city of Budapest. Just AMAZING!
As expected, this was a tour that gave me a taster of some European cities I hadn't visited before. A sociable and well organized tour guide, with some excellent walking tour guides in each city. Hotels generally of a good standard. A nice set of tour companions too.
