Having grown up in SoFla, I had always wanted to visit the forbidden island lurking in our backyard. Now that I have been, I never ever need to go back. It’s way worse than I ever expected. Proof positive that Communism does not work. But we got to see and do a lot of different things in 9 days. It was a well run trip. There are a few things I would change, though, and hope to have a chance to share that feedback with the tour operator.

The 9 Day This Cuban Life tour was the trip of a lifetime! I would recommend to everyone who is curious, somewhat adventurous, enjoys people and other cultures. Staying in Casas with families is a highlight. There is a good mix of experiencing city life, rural life, getting to know the people, their food, and their power outages (don't forget your flashlight). Our guide made the trip special. Not sure it would have been the same without our guide, our driver, and the rest of our 12 travel partners. I'm ready to return!
