As winter days are shorter I feel that it requires time adjustments, specially the first three days, from York to Edinburg. Me and my wife felt that in order to make the tour more attractive you could skip some of the little towns and give us more time in cities like York, that we almost didn't see anything because by the time we got there was dark. The last day of the tour, if you don't buy the optionals, you cannot see anything but souvenir shops and, although we did paid for the optional sale, we found this a little harsh for the people that do not want or didn't have the budget. The tour leader and the driver are great people and overall we had a good time. We like Expat, this is our second tour with them, and we are already booked for 2 more, but we definitely think that the GB tour in winter time should be different.
This was my first tour, so I did not know what to expect. Our tour guide, Mike, was friendly, fun and professional, as well as our bus driver, Lee. I saw so many things along the trip, and hope to go back someday. It was truly an experience of a lifetime. I made some new friends and will keep in contact with them in the future. I learned so much about the history, such a beautiful place. Okie Dokie, Wakie Wakie!!!
Great tour. Mike was an excellent tour guide and Chris was an extremely safe driver. Only negative was the amount of optionals. The tour was seven days with eleven optional tours to pay extra for. At least two of the optionals should have been included. Would I recommend the tour operator to a friend, ABSOLUTELY. But would I recommend The Great Britain New Year - No. With the additional excursions, the price of the trip was not a true reflection of how affordable the trips organized by this operator usually are. I've had extremely positive experiences with expat tours in the past, but was slight disappointed with the Great Britain New Years Tour.
