Taking a trip to England during winter offers an opportunity to witness the country's timeless charm in a different light. Yes, the days are shorter, and the weather is too cold to stay out for long, but the festive Christmas markets and cozy ambiance make up for these inconveniences. Winter is also an ideal time to explore iconic landmarks and cultural sites in historic cities like York and Bath without the bustling crowds and to enjoy the quiet beauty of the English countryside. Visit central locations like London, beautifully decorated with pretty lights during the holiday season. There are plenty of activities and events to keep you entertained. Those who prefer to stay indoors can visit the many museums, galleries, and castles dotted around the country.

Honest insights from past guests on our England tours

The itinerary is fast and very informative with lots of options to do as little or as much as you want to. The optional experiences ate great value often including a meal I would recommend doing as many as possible

I did all the add ons which were amazing but my favorite add ons were Travestere food tour (learning about the local culture) But going up Mt Pilates was the most awesome for the views.

Seeing the sights and shopping, making new friends and enjoying my family who accompanied me. The tour manager, Carolyn, was thoughtful, considerate, shared her insights well! The coach driver, Steve, was exemplary, professional and engaged with his patrons.!The Hotel Indigo Stratford Upon Avon was my favorite accommodation, I will always remember fondly the English garden there as we relaxed with family and new friends! The Paris extension was superb, our local guide, Valerie, was so courteous and knowledgeable about the city, use of the Metro, and the art at Montmarte! For the open day in Paris we had a side excursion to Normandy beaches and the American Cemetery, it was heartfelt and was the capstone of the trip. Please consider connecting with City Tours to suggest this to your future patrons, especially those with military service may be interested.

This had to be the best tour I have taken in over 40 countries to date. It was highly professional and good value for money. The tour Director was knowledgeable and very patient and would look into any questions we had. The hotels were first class and centrally located, most meals provided and of good quality. This went way beyond my expectations,

Maybe consider explicit information about distances being driven on the lengthier components of the tour journey. Perhaps consider the proportion of ‘optional activities’ that fill the tour days and evenings. (ie percentage of optional activities is disproportional to tour organised ones). Not transparent enough in relation to additional cost to participants or total time impact on tour days. Tour should be seen as a full tour not bus trip plus optional activities. The tour cost is already significant and it seems that the tour should provide all activities that fill the tour times. A proportion of time should remain available for folks to choose to take. Some activities / events are not significant enough e.g. momentary viewing in a day of long travel and not many other significant activities / attractions.

Great tour, fantastic tour guide. Just right amount of free time. In retrospect, I wish I had planned to arrive London a day earlier than the tour. Strand Palace hotel in London was a great location. I enjoyed our trip on the London Eye and riding on the Eurostar to Paris. In Paris, I enjoyed Versailles and the Eiffel Tower.
