Brilliant family adventure We travelled with children aged 11 and 14 and found ourselves in a lovely group of 4 families from across the UK. We totally lucked out with our amazing coach (and driver, Ohman) and our wonderful guide, Gustavo. Every day was different and we learned so much about where our food comes from, nature, and all types of wildlife. Accommodation was slightly basic at times but we coped and all pools were lovely. The 14 KM white water rafting is not to be missed and we also enjoyed the night walks and boat trips. Had an amazing trip on a catamaran and swam with tropical fish and the kids jumped off the boat back into the blue sea. We always felt very safe and well looked after by this tour operator.
Been there done that.... and ready to do it all over again! Had a time of my life waking up to howling monkeys, birds singing, tropical fruits/flowers, lush scenery at our doorstep....while climbing hills that of course were challenging at times, but that was part of the excitement.
I am eternally grateful for the joy this trip bought me. Still smiling when wake up in the morning as I can't beleive I can say .... been there, done that and happily do it again!
Pura Vida to all the lovely people in Costa Rica.
Costa Rica's Coastal Secrets January 2018 This was a memorable holiday, for all the right reasons. We were interested to find out about Costa Rica's wildlife and landscapes, and we were delighted with what we found. It was an active holiday, with quite a lot of early-morning rises, but this was more than compensated by the richness of the wildlife encounters. Our guide, Pedro, was outstanding: his knowledge, organisation, and enthusiasm were inspirational. The group, which ranged in age from 33 to 83, got on really well together, united by his passion and good humour. Accommodation was good to very good, and the food (most of which is included in the price) was also good to very good.
We experienced the full gamut of weather conditions, from tropical rain to warm temperatures and blue sunny skies.
As for organisation, the trip passed without a hitch despite certain roads being blocked by landslides and fallen trees, and we always felt safe.
There is quite a bit of travelling from one location to another.
