Discover Costa Rica really lived up to expectations Wonderful wild life and plenty of time to see everything in detail An incredibly varied country - difficult to do it justice in 16 days but this holiday gives an excellent insight into a wonderful holiday Unhurried and relaxing holiday Accommodation - food - wonderful Costa Rica is very Eco friendly. It’s approach to living alongside wildlife is to be greatly admired and, indeed, the rest of the world should learn from Costa Rica approach The guide (Héctor) was superb Costa Ricans are fabulous people - warm and welcoming Trip notes are accurate However if travelling from Ecuador to Costa Rica it is necessary to have a Yellow Fever Certificate.

We started off San Jose and explored the culture. Food was amazing. Next we headed out to Pacuera River to whitewater raft for two days. Got to stay in the rainforest with huts and the guides/volunteers were Amazing. So attentive, knowledgeable and kind. They kept us well fed. Our next trip took us to LA Fortuna....long drive but worth it. The hanging bridges, waterfall, and hot springs all were very enjoyable. We were lucky enough to see spider monkeys and other native wildlife ssooo cool! We then went to Quepas near Manuel Antonio to enjoy the Pacific beach. Beautiful as well. The water is very warm. Other wildlife we saw were macaws, iguanas, chipocun monkeys. Last destination back to San Jose. Enjoyed walking around the market streets. Our drivers, guides, and meals were all great.

This was a really good and varied introduction to the country, taking in both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts, and a number of types of forest in between. We saw a wide variety of birdlife, flora and fauna and enjoyed the different types of accommodation, all of which were very good or excellent in different ways. The food was generally first class and served with a smile by friendly and helpful staff. The visits to a village school and a local cheesemaker on the final day were both interesting and enjoyable, in spite of our misgivings beforehand about this sort of activity when we saw it in the notes.
