CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: DOBBIACO

This was the second year in a row for me in Dobbiaco, so I already knew what to expect. We set off for a different route each day, enjoyed varied terrain, weather and snow conditions. The routes were well planned, with cozy places to stop for refreshments, and spectacular scenery. Comfortable accommodation, friendly staff and delicious food at the Tschurstschenthaler Hotel, and a superb leader, Albert Callewaert.Â

The guide did a wonderful job explaining the details of Michelangelo's David statue. It is truly a wonder to behold. The tour is relatively brief because there is not a lot of art to see in this museum. However, the guide did suggest going to the music side of the museum, which you would easily miss without being told about it. It was also very interesting and worth taking in while there. Good tip! I would recommend this tour.

I am so glad I did this holiday. I felt it was a risk booking as it would probably be cancelled or I might get exposed to Covid but I didn't and it was a wonderful week with great people. It meant I could face this second lockdown with greater equanimity.
