While I anticipated a week of trail hikes, our guide added several events to make the week a cultural event as well. To begin, the scenery is spectacular. Added to that, our guide Veriano shared his deep passion for the area and its culture. We enjoyed the morning challenges of the trails, then shared in the preparation and/or consumption of those gourmet products in the afternoon. It was the best of both worlds. Our guide was extremely knowledgable about the history and vegetation of the area, having been born and raised there. In addition there were opportunities to appreciate the history first hand by climbing Mt Vesuvius and visiting Pompei. The experience left me with a great appreciation for the area and left me with a lifetime of memories.
The best way to see the Amalfi Coast Our week on the Amalfi Coast became one of our best holidays which we will always remember. We had wanted to see Amalfi and this part of Italy and this holiday certainly gave us an excellent chance to experience this area through the walks, excursions and visits to local businesses/cafes. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and went out of their way to make your holiday something special and hassle free. Suzy our group leader was always a ray of sunshine and delighted in sharing her knowledge of the area. The walks did encompass some challenging terrain on loose scree, steep inclines/declines but you always felt confident and safe in Suzy's capable hands. This was a holiday where everything came together to make it wonderful in every way - beautiful scenery, everyone in the group getting along, glorious weather and excellent food. I would not hesitate to recommend both this tour company and this particular trip.
This was a very good well organised trip. Saw a lot in a short time. Some of the walks can be strenuous in the heat so look at the time of year you goThe flights to Catania were late both ways going out to scicily this had a massive impact as we didnt get to the hotel until the early hours, up after 4 hours sleep onto a ferry then walking up Vulcano in the midday sun was hard work. The hotels were all very good , lots to eat at breakfast to set you up for the day. The only hotel with limited breakfast was the last one very basic but the location makes up for itThe hotel in Catania for the last evening was very well situated however booking out was at 1030 but the return flight is not until late evening that meant about 11 hours to kill which was a bit draining to say the least. Youre allowed to leave your luggage but the tour operator should consider arranging earlier flights. Home .
