Walking the Amalfi Coast in the days of Covid

This Exodus holiday is one of the most popular and I have wanted to "do it" for years. It combines guided walking, swimming in the sea and pool, a week's stay in a small and friendly hotel Due Torri above Amalfi, history and sightseeing, and great hospitality, food and wine. This September 2020, we seized the moment ("CARPE DIEM") and my husband, his brother, and I booked the September 5 week. We realised we were taking a risk, but now we are so relieved we did, as it prepared us to cope with the uncertainties of living with Covid this UK winter. A perfect sunny week without crowds, a wonderful guide (Severio) and such a great, sociable group of 12. We were welcomed at the hotel and in the town of Bomerano - this was the first time they had all opened since March and our guide had been working at the Hotel. As soon as UK relaxes its quarantine rules, be sure to take this trip.
Biking through rural Tuscany

This holiday takes you through rural and semi-urban Tuscany, on a loop from Pisa through Florence. We started in Pisa, and spent an enjoyable evening in the city, soaking up the mediaeval architecture and open plazas. Cycling from the city, we headed towards Lucca, a splendid walled city. The ambience and beauty of this city does not disappoint, match by a warm welcome from our hosts. Exploring Lucca by night is truly atmospheric - a must! Splendid place for gastronomes also! Heading from Lucca, we took the loop cycle to the hilly outcrop of Collodi. The winding roads require good map skills and care navigating the turns, but this adds to the interest of the trip. Montecatini was the next stop, an old spa town which was rather quiet; the spas are not open all year - if interested in this aspect, we advise checking opening times before you book. We took a day off here, just to relax and unwind. Heading towards Florence is an amazing part of the trip, as excitement builds as you approach the city. Exploring Florence was undoubtedly amazing, and the gentle cycle back to Pisa was the perfect wind down.

A bit fast paced at times but able to see so much of Europe in 10 days! Was great to visit a couple big European sites and figure out where you may want to visit again or skip on the next European trip.
