- Learn to bargain; you can get goods at amazing prices if you haggle.
- Taste the street food; most of the best food can be eaten on the go.
- Don’t go over “Spring Break;” you’ll pay more and there will be plenty of people already there.
- Use the route taxis; there might be strangers, but they cost less.
- If you want to drive a car, be careful on the road. Speed limits are mere suggestions.
- If you’re willing to risk it, go during hurricane season; things are significantly cheaper.
- Bring mosquito repellant.
- Don’t become a beach bum; there is more to this island then beaches, like climbing Dunn’s River Falls, or going to Dolphin Cove.
