The trek was demanding, especially in low season (i did it in January-February). With good gear and sleeping bag, the cold can be managed. I got a guide (Hari) and the trek turned out to be perfect. The trek is amazing. Would definitely do it again in the future.

We began the trek at a modest pace out of Lukla which allowed the group to get a feel for the mountain hiking. We did not feel rushed or pressured to walk at a faster pace than comfortable. We loved the incredibly scenery in the Himalayas. The guide Madan was terrific. He had a great personality and told many stories. I enjoyed discussions about Hinduism and Buddhism. He was very attentive at assessing the health needs of the group by checking out oxygenation with a portable pulse oximeter. (Highly suggested amazon purchase for $20). He checked in on each guest several times a day for signs of altitude sickness. Our tour operator provided extra staff to help manage travelers that needed come down the mountain early due to moderate altitude sickness. The low oxygen at 18,000 feet made the hike to Kalapathar challenging. It was a trip of a lifetime. I highly recommend to take the Everest Base Camp trek.

An amazing experience thanks to the fantastic team of cooks, porters and sherpas. Samde and his team had a huge task on their hands. The group was far too big and many of the camping spots were very cramped in the back of a tea house with limited "facilities" -no space for a toilet tent.Once we were constrained to dig the loo in the veggie patch of a tea house! The final camp was basically a construction site.On the whole the camping sites were very disappointing-no fault of the crew who did a great job in very difficult circumstances.Conditions have changed considerably over a few years and as stated the group was far too big.Despite that the kitchen team managed to work miracles without fail and all the staff were were brilliant. The Manaslu circuit is spectacular without doubt..but I think the camping element needs to be reconsidered.
