Everest Base Camp trek

Having trekked to Everest Base Camp in Khumbu, Nepal, I cannot recommend this tour company enough. A local company using only local staff, the guides and porters are of the highest quality, with a rarely seen zest and contentment in their work. My guide had an enormous amount of experience, was deeply knowledgeable and was better equipped than any of the guides you will find in the mountains. The team were naturals at their work and extremely professional in their duties, and really made the difference on this trek making a great trip into a truly unforgettable experience. The trip was absolutely incredible and I would encourage any able-bodied and properly-equipped individual who is considering it to go for it from the chaos and diversity of KTM to the landing at Lukla to the endless 6000m+ mountain vistas and the unique landscape of base camp and the approaching glacier, which is like an alien planet. There are too many great things to experience and remember about this trip, is was a complete sensory overload. Things went pretty much as expected, I had planned to go to EBC, then over Cho-la and Renjo-la Passes and back down through to Lukla via Thame. However after EBC we reached Dzonghla, which is the only stopping place before crossing the path, only to experience heavy snow overnight making it too difficult to make the pass so we had to head back. That was disappointing but freak unusual weather can occur anytime. I would use this company's services again without question. I saw many guides, some of which were substandard and didn't really do anything more than the minimum required, their customers were complaining but I did not have a single thing to complain about. The service started as soon as I arrived in Kathmandu and lasted for the complete duration of my trip, despite some large changes of plan during the trip. They have plenty of solid international references, which checked out very well and having used them I now add myself to that list of references, please feel free to contact me direct if you need any further information. Using this company is the only way to trek the Himalaya - you will be provided with sincere support from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave; you will experience a deep sense of local life and culture which many trekkers do not see; you will have the best photos of your trip; you will be contributing only to directly to the people of this wonderful country. It is 100% guaranteed.

Our 12 day Everest Base Camp was nothing short of fantastic. The astonishing scenery, the highly rewarding nature of the hike and excellent company of our group were exaggerated by the efforts of everyone at the local operator who did everything in their power to ensure our trip was a true once-in-a-lifetime experience. Having everything organised meant that we could focus on enjoying our beautiful surroundings rather than worrying where we would be sleeping or where our next meal was coming from. My partner and I booked on very short notice and were unable to be accommodated with the rest of our group on their flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Upendra went out of his way to look after us, and we ended up being flown in a helicopter an unforgettable experience! I would like to give special recognition to our guide, Ang Ngima Sherpa, one of the kindest, most positive and good natured people I have ever had the fortune of meeting. This trek is by no means a walk in the park, but Ngima kept our group in fantastic spirits throughout. He knew everything about the trek and almost everyone along it, and was as willing to describe the cultural history of the Sherpa people as he was to sit down and play cards with us all. At the conclusion of the trip, Ngima invited my partner and I to enjoy lunch with his family, a truly unique and humbling experience. My love for Nepal, and the Himalayas, stems largely from Ngimas enthusiasm, passion and deep knowledge of the region. I hope to come back sometime in the near future and trek with Ngima again. For those trying to decide which company to go with for their Himalayan trek, I suggest you look no further than the operator. 5 stars is an understatement.
