EBC is a sensational but tough trek In common with other reviewers' comments, it should be noted that the landscape between Lukla and Dingboche is like an alpine paradise, unexpectedly beautiful valleys and rivers, criss-crossed with suspension bridges and dotted with Buddha stupas. While mostly undulating, the trail is especially difficult on days where the ascent can be two hours straight up. But the leaders are cogniscent of this and allow many water stops in between scheduled breaks. Our leader, Bikash Tamang (TNT191102), was an especially experienced and supportive leader and provided confidence to those who needed it as well as providing cultural and geographical narrative from start to finish.
The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the sanitary condition of many of the lodges high up in the Khumbu region and the abysmally cold bedrooms which are not insulated or well built. Do not underestimate how cold it gets at night.
Myself and a friend arrange a bespoke Poon Hill 5 day trek and a Chitwan 3 day safari with transportation arranged between the two and also from and back to Kathmandu. We arranged everything by email and received responses to everyone and we did seriously pester this company. On arrival in Kathmandu we were collected from the airport by a driver who had waited 2 hours while we cleared immigration, we then travelled to our hotel before being collected and taken to their offices. There we were given detailed information about our trip and asked if we had any questions about the itinerary. From the following morning where we were taken to the bus station to the moment we arrived back in Kathmandu everything went totally as planned, even back at Kathmandu where we were again very later the driver had waited for us. Our Poon Hill guide was Raju and our porter was Ram and they were superb, Raju even stayed on the following day and escorted us around Pokhara sorting out travel for us and didn't want anything from us although we bought him lunch. Raju was also responsible for choosing our restaurants and tea houses on route and again he picked some really good places for us. He had good knowledge of the mountains, wildlife, village life, the politics of Nepal and many other things. All in all then totally impressed with this company and I have very high standards, really would recommend anyone travelling through Nepal to consider this company.
Incredible trek in the Annapurna Region A fantastic experience trekking in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Annapurna Base Camp has the most incredible views and landscapes, with many comfortable lodges to stay in along the way.
