This was a very tough trip - the weather is very unpredictable this time of year and we had very heavy snowfall and whiteouts which increased the danger and meant some camps were very rough in the snow. An advantage was that we saw no other groups once we headed north and west from Honggon. Also the local crew were excellent - guides, porters and cooks all did a great job under difficult conditions and pressed on despite the problems. The Lumbasumba pass was relatively easy compared to the lower more technical passes that came later.

Brilliant experience! Highly recommend it!

What can I say, loved the trip! Kathmandu and the surrounding locations are just amazing. The city, the temples, the people. And then the trekking route through the Annapurna Valley up to the base camp takes your breath away, because it's physically hard at times but mostly because of the sensational mountain landscape. All along the way, the little cottages where we rested, had our meals and in some cases, stayed for the night, are really cool as well, with nice welcoming people making their living there. And at the base camp, the view of the mountain peaks and the sunrise... Wow! If you can, don't miss this trip. You won't regret it!
