Annapurna Base Camp, best route in Nepal After hiking the Langtang trail a few years ago, I came back to Nepal for a life-long dream. Hiking the Annapurna Base Camp trek. The route is remarkable. I absolutely enjoyed the connection with local villagers along the hike. They are very friendly and welcoming. For me, I enjoyed this route more than the previous trail I hiked because of the diversity.
Great company and experienced guide We had a wonderful trek to Everest Base Camp with Michael. He was knowledgeable and have lots of experience. We enjoyed the whole trek of 12 days starting from Kathmandu. Landing in the world's highest airport Lukla was a lifetime experience for us. The beautiful Namche Bazar and its periphery, the tall white mountains, and Sherpa people are very kind-hearted and good in every mountaineering activity. The way to Everest base camp is of course a unique foot-trails.
This trek certainly provides not only spectacular mountain scenery, but also many opportunities to walk through cardamom plantations and majestic forests covered with lichen and ferns. We saw nomadic yak herders, interesting villages and farms, beautiful waterfalls and there were some rickety old bridges to cross along the way. It was great to be on another trek with Chris and Kate and also Nima, Mini and Chiring. Bir Singh Gurung was our guide and looked after us very well and without all the support staff we couldn't have these amazing experiences. This is a challenging trek at times. One night the temperature dropped to minus 20! The undies left on the line overnight were frozen solid the next morning.
