Annapurna base camp 9 days trek Trek done mid-September. Very pleased with it. Showers of rain during the afternoon almost every day but no factor since we were already at the guesthouse. Stunning views from ABC in the morning at the base camp, clear skies with the sunrise, really worth it. Lovely people in Nepal, excellent food and good atmosphere while trekking.
We were meant to go on the Upper Mustang trek to Lo Manthang, but they were having the snowiest winter in 10 years. We had to change our plans considerably and only made it as far as Tangbe. Mustang was beautiful and clear, especially with the snow, and we had the rare experience of seeing a snow leopard in the wild. From there we went closer to Pokhara and trekked around a bit before returning a few days early to Kathmandu. Our guide said that normally trekking in Mustang that time of year is doable, but it was too snowy for us to make it all the way to Lo Manthang. It was a unique experience. The tea houses were all super nice, and we enjoyed the food along the way.
My husband and I had such a wonderful time on this trek! We had a great guide, Prakash, who made sure that we were getting enough water and was able to tell us all about the area, it's history, and it's people. We wnt in late March and had great weather - a decent snowstorm on our second night treking, but it added the the beauty of the next day. While this hike was challenging with how steep it can get, it is nothing that frequent rests won't take care or, and I think it is super accessible for folks. Would absolutely recommend.
