Excellent Everest Base Camp Trek I am back to home after doing a trek to Everest Base Camp with my girlfriend. Simply to say, I had fantastic memory in the Himalayas. It was definitely a great trekking experience.
An amazing trekking experience with the best team possible. My Wonderful guide and now our forever friend Pasang Sherpa is the best guide we could hope to have. He is very knowledgeable, resourceful, and so helpful in every way to make our Himalayan experience wonderful and so memorable. Thank you Pasang for Great Experiences! Highly Recommended Pasang and this local travel specialist!
Good company, but not the best guide Pros: + Flawless communication with Mr. Khum Subedi + A friendly guy picked us up in the middle of the night from the terrible airport of Kathmandu. The same guy dropped us off at the airport before our flight. + Good hotels with very friendly stuff provided in Kathmandu & Pokhara + Good lodging provided by the guide in the mountains + Our porter Telkazi, was the nicest person we have ever met in Nepal - not only he was carrying our bag, but also he was very nice and fun company along the trip. We wish him soon to become a mountain guide. + Guide rearranged the itinerary so that we had one extra day after the Thorong La Pass, which was very clever decision. Cons: - Our guide was not honest with us all the time. We have several issues, which leave some bitter taste to our experience: * He was supposed to stay with us in Pokhara and show us some place of interest (according to the itinerary), but he said that it is too expensive and boring for him to stay - although we are covering all his expenses. On the same day we see picture in Facebook of him with other client of the company. Not nice Mr. Prabin! * In Pokhara we were supposed to have a lunch payed by the guide, but it was skipped because the guide left us in the hotel and departed for Kathmandu. * During the transfer Jomsom - Tatopani - our guide has tried to trick us telling us that there is only one bus for the day, but no seats for us, so we have to travel standing. We refused and made him to call to all bus counters we have seen for available buses and seats. It turned out that there is a bus and seats. So we have to push him, in order to do what he is supposed to do. * our guide (with 25 years of experience as he claimed) was not acquainted in details with the trail. At certain points, we had to correct him, as he was leading us in wrong direction. He did not have a map of the trail, a headlight (we had two days when the trekking started in the middle of the night) and pair of warm gloves (we gave him from ours). - Not the best guide we could have --> young people with older guide (my fathers age) - it is not a good combination. Besides small troubles and tension that we had with our guide, we had good time in the mountains. Perhaps I will book other trek with this company in future, as I really liked Mr. Khum and his company, but next time I will request more details about the guide.
