Gokyo and Everest Base Camp We greatly enjoyed our trek, as well as our tour of Kathmandu. Our guide was very gregarious and knowledgeable, and both our guide and porter adapted well and without any complaints to our desire to visit both Gokyo Lakes and Kala Patthar, despite the closure of Cho La due to snow. We ended up hiking two extra days' worth of distance without increasing the total duration of our trek.
Ghorepani Poonhilll sunrise trek A very popular trekking trail, with good facilities all through the route. Trek on the day of sunrise at Poonhilll is extra long and can be exhaustive because you have to start the trek early morning 4.30am and climb up to 3200m level, climb down to Ghorepani. Then again climb up few times high before rapid climb down.
Incredible trek to Everest Base Camp The Everest Base Camp trek is an incredible way to spend 9-14 days experiencing the delights of the Himalaya mountain region, with the ultimate reward of reaching the base camp of the world's most notorious mountain climb. I couldn't recommend this local operator any more highly. He took such great care of me as a solo traveller, answering all my questions very promptly before the trip, and organising every last detail from the moment I touched down in Kathmandu, to when I left. Nepal can be a slightly chaotic place to travel around, and for me I had flights to and from Lukla cancelled (due to a "broken plane"), however with Pasang around, he made all the necessary arrangements such that I still made it to do the trek in the time I had! He ensured I had all the necessary trekking gear, lending me a few bits I didn't have. At the end of the trek he gave me a quick tour of Kathmandu and even invited me into his home. As a side point, Pasang uses guides based in Lukla or the surrounding region, so unlike other companies the price of flying a guide from Kathmandu to Lukla isn't included in the price. He is absolutely priceless, so if you are thinking of doing any trekking in Nepal, use him!
