Amazing Trek, Amazing guide, great company to book with.

The trek was excellent. Arjun was a great guide, having much experience (doing the trek over 60 times previously), he knew shortcut trails, which avoided some dusty road sections. He also knew how to get across several hazardous 'landslide' area sections where there was some falling rock and debris. I felt he became a true friend, and not only my guide. The tea house accomodation selection was very good - travelling throughout May was a good time to go, as it was coming to the end of the second peak season. This meant very few tourists, and I had a whole room to myself every night. It was really good not having to barter for a room or food, the guide took care of everything. You would get one meal 3 times a day, plus tea/coffee 3 times a day. Sometimes, I found on the tougher days that I was extra thirsty or hungry, so you would just pay additionally for extra tea etc. The prices are extremely reasonable. Also in higher up places, you would have to pay for wifi use/gas shower. But again this amounted to peanuts in reality. Definitely worth this small extra cost imo. Our weather was also very fortunate, there was no heavy rain throughout the entire trek. There were some clouds over the Himalayas, but so many occasions (especially early morning) where it was completely clear too. The transport to and from the trek was very good - I opted for a private car there, which was an extra $100 US to avoid the hassle of a bus. However, after taking the tourist bus for my return, I found them to be comfortable enough and this led me to believe that the private car isn't really necessary. Depends on your budget I guess. We were also meant to take a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, but due to an engine problem, we had to take the local bus in the end. This was a long 12 hour journey, but it was better to be safe and in the end and Khum (the travel agent) compensated for the flight cost by giving me 4 free nights accomodation in Pokhara which was really excellent. Overall I was very satisfied with the trek and service that I received for the price that I paid. It definitely makes sense to have a guide when trekking. Whilst its possible to do it without, a guide knows the geography very well, and also the risky sections. He can communicate with the local people about changing conditions on the mountains and can barter for the best price, for any small things/snacks you might need along the way. Great job by the local tour operator.

I trekked the base camp trail in the last September and it was truly a mesmerizing experience. The views, the weather, the environment everything were literally amazing. The guides and porters were very friendly and entertaining. Special thanks to Mr. Devi for providing us such a good team. It will always be one of the finest and memorable experience for me.
Great walk and Great trek!

The walk was great on all accounts, the rural Sherpa villages, the landscape, the quiet beautiful ambience of a fairly untouched land. Not seeing many tourists also gave a more special feeling of embracing the wild untamed region. After collaboration with a few friends, we altered our destination to Gokyo and the surrounding lakes etc, rather than Everest Base camp. Our decision was greeted with smiles from our guide who told us it would be far more worthwhile because Gokyo trail is more picturesque and less crowded than the classical EBC trail. After encountering masses of people on the Lukla to Phading and Namchee Bazaar trail, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that only about 10% of people followed the trail to Gokyo. The scenery and the majestic landscape, the views of several 8,000 + metre peaks was well vindicated. The climb from Gokyo (4800m) the next day to the Gokyo Ri peak (5,400m) an awesome and exhilarating experience. I would recommend this over the traditional EBC trail.
