A skiing holiday with all the positives As a veteran of 8 cross-country skiing holidays with this tour company, I found Kamben to be the best combination of all the elements needed for a successful trip. Its the location Im most likely to visit again or recommend to others. The routes, which are mostly skiable direct from the hotel, range from easier tracks with picnic huts, to undulating forest routes, to high hills with great views, all with the best signposting Ive seen.
A superb location for sampling the delights of winter in Norway. The hotel was authentically Norwegian - lots of wood and candles, excellent smoked/marinaded/baked fish and meat, with a few veggie options, mouth-watering desserts (several of us "bagged" our faves before the earlybirds - aka The Germans - scraped the plates), good skis, help with waxing and great tuition and group leading. The sauna was very welcome after the day's battering - sorry "getting to grips with XC skiing" and the West Wing room was unusually spacious for a ski holiday.
My 4th trip to Mosstrand and I enjoy it more every time I go. The skiing is off track and in some of the most spectacular scenery you will see; often you see no-one else the whole week you are there. The host Philip & his team of family and friends make the whole experience like you are staying in a relatives house with friends around. The team guide you during the day and eat/socialise with you for all 3 meals. The meals are also prepared by the team fresh that day and using local ingredients and dishes.Once you have visited you will find it difficult to go anywhere else. I'm already planning next year's trip.Rob Milner
