Cortijo Rosario is a lovely place to stay, just outside the village of Algamitas in a beautiful part of Andalucia. Our room was fairly spacious with a comfortable bed and en-suite. The public areas had been fully refurbished with a small bar, lounge and dining room. There is also a reasonable sized pool which we used every day after the walks to cool down. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it; the Paella on the last night was superb. We ate all our dinners outside on the terrace with the added attraction of a wonderful view. The walking was enjoyable without being too challenging with a fair variety through the week from easy tracks to mountainous limestone scenery.

I am genuinely amazed.Bus drivers were very careful, and the guides were extremely well-informed and fluent in English. Accommodating hotels that prioritize safety and cleanliness, accompanied by cooperative personnel. There are charging connections and WiFi on board! The weather was perfect, and we made some wonderful new friends!

I joined a local walking group last Autumn, not very long after my wife died, and found that it got me out of the house, gave me some execise and I met a new group of people. I also saw some stunning areas fairly close to home that were new to me. Signing up a week's walking in Mallorca was my first solo trip and I was understandably a little nervous but it proved to be one of my most enjoyable, not to say challenging, holidays. Some of the walking/climbing was tougher than I was used to, partly because the weather for most of the week was a lot hotter (34c on one day) than expected in May. However I completed all but one days, including the most exacting climb and missed one day later in the week as I wasn't too well (as did several others in the group) I intend to go on similar holidays in the future. There were 16 in the group, all more experienced than me, and they were a very nice bunch.
