Spain Tour Reviews

Honest insights from past guests on our Spain tours

Anonymous | Traveled in June

This tour covers all the key cities of Spain and Portugal and the optimal excursions are well worth it as you get to see more of the local culture and experiences through the expert commentary of the local guides who are so passionate about their local area. The tour wasn’t too busy and must days you were at your hotel by 4pm, sometimes earlier. The standard of hotels was excellent and the Tour Director (Angela) and the driver (Hernanni) were both so friendly, professional and accommodating to guests. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to see the best of Spain and Portugal within a two week timeframe.

The worst part of this trip is the food. Lunches are, here is a town go find somewhere to eat. Dinner starts late so you are left to fast food if you want anything before 8pm. Spanish dishes don't believe in sauce or condiments of any kind so if you are American this is really strange.

The itinerary lives up to it’s name. In 14 days we covered a lot of territory, experienced Iberian culture and learned so much about Spain and Portugal’s fascinating history. Our tour director, the many specialists guides were professional and personable providing so many insights of these two beautiful countries.

be prepared to do some walking - although it is manageable. have a supply of small Euro denominations for tipping when meals are on your own. Tip on credit card does not always go to server.

We had a wonderful week of hiking with a group of strangers who quickly became friends. The hotel was perfectly adequate, though not fancy, and it was convenient to have a breakfast buffet each morning. Our guide, Spaska, made the experience much richer by sharing her knowledge of Andorra's history and flora. She was warm, friendly and quick to laugh. She kept our safety paramount, and made smart decisions about routes and options. I would recommend this trip, and hope to do another Explore trip in the future!

This tour is easy to moderate paced compared to our prior insight tour. There is a lot of walking over uneven surfaces so be mindful if you have trouble with this. Cem was a personable and funny guide who made the tour very enjoyable. He had a good sense of balance when it came time to brief us on some of the sites, and giving us time and quiet to rest. Airport transfers were smooth and without issues. Attractions and special events (optional experiences) were well worth it. We prefer less time in extremely crowded touristy locations (mostly to hunt for souvenirs and food), and more time in less crowded and locally authentic places for dining which we enjoyed in Seville. The Flamenco Dance optional experience was so much fun. Would highly recommend that to everyone.
