We had a fantastic start in the Tetons , great hikes and beautiful views. We managed to see black bears on one of our hikes. Some surprising dramatic weather whilst we went up the cable car. We were very disappointed to not be able to visit Yellowstone because it was flooded, but our guide Mark Harding more than made up for this with great walks in the Tetons and Glacier Park where we were able to stay another day. We saw grizzly bears and bisson on the reserve. We had a fantastic boat ride and dinner at Coeur D'Alene .All our accomodation was good. My favourite was staying in Glacier park, where Mike, our guide provided us with a fantastic breakfast everyday.
A taste of many things! A time to walk alone and travel together. What a great way to discover Western USA.
From walking the Golden Gate Bridge with clear blue skies to the 'awesome' view from Angel's Landing in Zion Valley. From the unforgettable moment you reach the rim of Bryce Canyon to the madness of Las Vegas. As a sworn-in Ranger (a very rigorous assessment) I feel qualified to recommend this trip to those who love variety and do not want to sit on a beach and roast. Fantastic.
The 16days USA / Canada tour was interesting and exciting, with many highlights, including nature hikes in Canada, to exploring the streets of major cities and learning about their politics and regional history. Adventure activities included a helicopter flight over Niagara Falls and a boat trip into the magnificent Horseshoe Falls at Niagara, hiking through Flume Gorge and Montmorency Falls in Quebec. Our tour leader Larry, made each day interesting and fun, with his abundant local knowledge and keen sense of humour. Other personal highlights for me were visiting Washington, Alexandria, Quebec City, Detroit and making friends along the way with my fellow adventurers. Many thanks to Larry for all you did for us and a special shout out to Leo, our Driver, for his driving skills and keeping us safe, much appreciated!
