Cosseted from start to finish. Vietnam was amazing but the trip was made even better by our fabulous tour guide, Anh Vuoung. Hanoi was mad and needs to be experienced to be believed. Ha Long bay lives up to expectations, and despite being warned about lots of steps, the cave was not arduous but was spectacular. The Da Nang Reunification museum was a different take on the ‘American war’ and the spirit of reconciliation was obvious. I’m glad that we did it. Hoi An was amazing too, and very different from other Vietnamese places, a mini Hong Kong with LED coloured lights everywhere. One of my favourite places. The Mekong boat trip was an eye opener, the Vietnamese people are so resourceful and friendly. We had feared that the trip might be a bit too cultural for us, but it was fine, and we enjoyed the visits, and very happy to be educated. We did an optional bike & boat ride, it was a great respite from this town based trip, touring open countryside with a guide, meeting locals and tasting the home made products. No complaints about accommodation at all, nice hotels and lovely home stay - even the overnight rail trip was fine -earplugs essential. I’d recommend this trip wholeheartedly, Exodus delivered for us yet again and their star, Anh was incredible. rn with breezes was a welcome respite from the heat.

My overall experience was completely amazing. Our tour leader involved everyone, made effort in every aspect of the trip. The people apart of the trip were just incredible. I ticked so many things off my list in Vietnam on this tour. Thank you. Thank you Adam you are such a great person & your in the right job. Keep smiling & making others smile.

The itinerary is fast paced requiring early starts and a quick turnaround following the day’s ride - often arriving the hotel early evening/out an hour later for dinner at local restaurants. Some of the transfers are long but the coach was comfortable and had wifi. Chi, our Leader, and his team (Sow, Ee & Minh) were brilliant, as were their time management and organisation skills. The bikes (Giant Rincon) were brand new. Each day we were handed a detailed Ride Plan with the route stats, logistics and transfer timings etc which certainly managed my expectations re the gradients. The majority of roads were relatively quiet but when we had to navigate a couple of highway intersections the Team expertly shepherded us through (which was slightly daunting coupled with exhilirating). Some rides had several 8%-10% inclines which I and a few others part-walked - snack stops were usually every 15-20km. All meals throughout the trip were excellent, with one exception (Qui Nhon) - we arrived later than usual so ate in the hotel roof-top bar, however, the view made up for the poor service & meal. Hotels were good (one or two very much so), and when on ‘two-night stays’ the laundry service was efficient and inexpensive (I wished I’d packed less and made better use of the service). Highlights of the trip: a great Leader & team, sharing the experience with fellow travellers, the food, exploring Saigon (we travelled a day early), Whale Island, and Hoy An.
