Awesome. Best holiday ever. Just do it! Can't praise the tour operator enough. Felt like I'd been away a month we packed so much in! It was fantastic. Stunning scenery, great people, 'undulating' cycling, quiet early morning roads, water buffalo, paddy fields, mountains, hilarious nights out and on trains, sooo much good food and (occasional) beers. I've come home with so many great photos and memories and am already thinking about my next trip. The cycling was always a comfortable pace. The bus journeys, whilst long, were fine...(and I don't normally do buses). Halong Bay took your breath away.
So many people had waxed lyrical over Vietnam we had high expectations of our visit and it didn’t disappoint. This is a full on assault of your senses with a packed schedule. From the high octane cities to the vast tropical forests, industrious local farmers and fishermen and vast coastline this was a spectacular adventure. Cycling was great on pretty good road surfaces. Our leader would warn us of potential potholes and hazards but most surfaces were better than our local roads at home. Distances perhaps don’t look far but in the heat most people were happy to see the coach. All the rides were broken up into manageable chunks with juice and a fantastic array of snacks to keep us going. Mango back in the UK will never taste the same.
Our experience was worth the price. The number of activities we participated in and the quality of the hotels, not to mention that we visited all we wanted, and even more, this trip is worth every dollar you pay. The tour of the Hanoi countryside was a pleasant surprise, it is not a tourist place at all, and we have seen the REAL life of locals. It was so nicely organized that we had a feeling like we were visiting our friends. Highly recommend!
