Having recently returned from a 15-day adventure to Vietnam I cannot praise Exodus enough for their meticulous organisation, jam-packed itinerary and knowledgeable and friendly guides.
Everything went smoothly thanks to the organisation of the staff at the UK HQ and also the guides who met us at each location we visited. The guides took their time to show us the "real Vietnam" and teach us about Vietnamese culture and life.
We took a private tour, travelling from North to South and were met at each destination by our Exodus guides; we did not need to worry about anything as everything was covered and as a result we saw and did so much more than would have been possible if we had organised the trip ourselves.
The trip exceeded my expectations due to the fine(Hot!)weather we enjoyed. The wonderful nature of the Vietnamese folk, the quality and attention to detail of our support team, plenty of refreshment/regrouping stops. The team leaders desire to ensure we learned a little of the history, good and bad,of his homeland and the direction it was heading in these more modern times.
As well as the above, the hotels were great, although had I been arriving at these establishments solo,in cycling gear and somewhat road weary,I would have been a degree more self conscious. That said, there was never anything less than a warm smile and a welcoming cool fruit drink, and even flowers placed around our necks at one halt.
The rest days were well placed and welcome, all in all adding up to one of the most memorable trips I have enjoyed.
Cycling trip starting in Thailand via Cambodia to Vietnam. Culture stops at Angkor Wat, Phnom Penh and Saigon. The cycling was back to front with long distances at the start of the trip when I (this was only me, I think!) was struggling to adjust to the high (37 degree) temperatures. It was always possible to stop riding and take the bus, but I didn't feel good about it. I did enjoy the trip immensely once I'd acclimatised and loved the stops at Angkor Wat, Phnom Penh and Saigon. The quality of hotels in these places was really good, too. Would do this trip again in a heartbeat.
