Central America on two wheels A challenging and very enjoyable two weeks. Three very different countries in a short space of time. You will feel hot, dirty and tired - but stick with it - there is so much to enjoy!
The cycling is challenging, and it does get easier - but do your training. The pace can be frantic - sometimes the hotels pass in a blur, arriving at dusk and then leaving early in the morning. But it is worth it to get such a great snapshot of Central American life.
This is a whirlwind tour of the three countries. A lot is packed into the 2 weeks. The itinerary is fast moving and most days are either cycling or travelling to the next destination. The cycling has some steep hills, so it's best if you are reasonably fit, but you don't necessarily have to be. All in all, a great way to see Central America, the beautiful scenery and the different cultures
Wonderful holiday through 3 amazing countries I had a really wonderful trip cycling through Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. It is 3 very interesting countries and the trip had lots of variations. Nicaragua is really untouched so would highly recommend spending a few extra nights here before the start of the trip - to see some more volcanos in the North around Len. Costa Rica is the most touristy of the 3 - but very beautiful with a lot of great nature and a good chance to spot some animals. Panama is very interesting and in particular the Panama Canal and the old part of Panama City, which reminded me a lot about Havanna in Cuba.
