Not cheap but worth it in many other ways Overall a great trip made better by the people in my group and trip leaders (even though we had a change over after Nicaragua). A wonderful experience slightly blighted by lost lounge for the first 5 days and then me having a non cycling accident on the first day in Panama. However the group and the trip leaders were awesome, a real opportunity to see people at their best. So helpful, so caring and so accommodating, every one of them really made sure I was able to enjoy as much of the holiday as possible. Stunning sights, food, adventures and guidance and support from the leaders and so much to laugh about and enjoy.
Cycling, Scenery and Swimming The trip is a great combination of cycling in three Central American countries all with quite distinct scenery. The cycling stages are not too long but nonetheless quite challenging given the hills and heat/humidity. Some training - particularly hills - is recommended! There was often time for a swim at the end of the day and swimming one day in the Caribbean Sea and the next in the Pacific Ocean was a highlight. Frequently, there was the opportunity to spot wildlife along the route - sloths, howler monkeys and toucans! A visit to an active volcano and cycling across the Panama Canal are also part of the itinerary.
It was a great tour except it's too long. I think we spent longer than needed in the first 2 bars. I'd also like to learn about the beer history in Toronto, e.g. the first brewery, when did it start, etc.
