Excellent! Hoi An was the highlight of the trip for me. Fewer crowds thanks to the low season of travel. Thanks to this, the time there was really remarkable. Night walk in the old town was a must-try activity because it looks like a picture blended between the peace of ancient houses and the dynamism of modern life. The colorful lantern streets kept obsessing my mind. The food in Hoi An was also good too. We tried Cao Lau and Banh mi in the suggested restaurants by the tour guide. Other cities like Hanoi, Bavi, Halong Bay, and Ho Chi Minh were great as well. Excellent for all.

The trip to the Cycladic islands of Naxos, Paros & Santorini was lovely! We had a great group and our guide was the Lovely Cecile. Although it was very, very cold and windy, the plus point was that the islands were very quiet from the overload of usual tourists. The walks were beautiful and the views were stunning. I'd much rather walk in Santorini during the quiet season than what I have seen (in pictures) during peak season. Eating out every evening with the group was fun. My only complaint was the accommodation in Paros. Frankly, it was shocking! I think I didn't expect this from Exodus. The room was freezing as the heating wouldn't work and the shower was leaky and broken. I think Exodus needs to rethink the accommodation in Paros. If you fancy the islands all to yourself, even though it may be freezing, then give this holiday a try in March.

Towards the end of our trip the political situation in Assam became volatile with demonstrations, strikes and roadblocks. The tour operator's team, local agents and our tour leaders responded promptly and professionally. At no time did we ever feel concerned although we were well aware that everyone was working very hard to ensure our safety. Sanjeev Gorung our tour leader and Deep our local guide were superb. We were extracted from Assam and given a short programme of visits to cover an extra three days in Kolkata. Although we were disappointed to miss some of the trip nothing could have been done better in the circumstances.
